ISS Student Wins National Drawing Competition

In the fall of 2019, the European Commission announced its 2nd Galileo Drawing Competition with the help of the Norwegian Space Agency and NRK Super. The competition was open to residents of Norway between the ages of 6-11. Over 20 students entered their projects from ISS.

The winner of the entire competition chosen from 516 entries was ISS Grade 3 student Shriya! One of the next three Galileo satellites, planned to be launched in 2021, will be named after Shriya! You can read more about the awards ceremony here and see Shriya in the NRK TV news here!

Our talented young artist’s story was also covered in the local newspaper Stavanger Aftenbladet and in Indian news channel!

Three other students’ work, Sarah in Grade 4, Cadence in Grade 3 and Hugo in Grade 2 were judged to be in the top 30 best entries, all of which will be on display at the Norwegian Space Agency following the award ceremony and press conference.

Congratulations!
