Our intrepid Grade 9 adventurers went on a challenging and rewarding 3-day expedition to Kvitlen! Over two nights and three days, they traversed breathtaking trails, pushing their limits and developing valuable life skills along the way.

This wasn’t just a hike; it was a journey of self-discovery and teamwork. They took ownership of their trip, planning nutritious meals, packing essentials, and understanding the importance of ‘Leave No Trace’ principles to minimize their impact on the environment. Safety was paramount as they learned essential mountain navigation using maps and compasses, all while fostering a sense of camaraderie by working together on camp duties – cooking, cleaning and managing water.

The trails to Kvitlen tested their grit and determination, but these Grade 9s faced challenges head-on, persevering through long hikes and unpredictable weather. They honed their decision-making skills, navigating choices as a team and working together to achieve common goals. Most importantly, the challenges and triumphs of the trip strengthened the bonds between the students. By supporting each other and relying on one another, they built a strong and resilient team – a sense of camaraderie that will undoubtedly benefit them far beyond the mountains.
