Galileo Satellite Named after Grade 5 Student ‘Shriya’

Yesterday, another Galileo satellite was launched into space, but this time it was a very special one. The Galileo satellite, SHRIYA, was named after our Grade 5 student Shriya Salgarkar. Shriya won a national drawing competition in March 2020 organised by the European Commision and the Norwegian Space Agency. She was invited to the Norwegian Space Center in Oslo for an official ceremony where Shriya was celebrated with speeches and cake. Her drawing shows a girl with long hair who is dreaming about the sunset, the moon, planets, stars and the universe.
