Last Thursday, a group of 13 enthusiastic High School students, along with their French teacher Ms. Laouadi, went to the Kapittel International Festival of Literature and Freedom of Speech in Stavanger. The festival’s overarching theme for the year was “Hope in 2023,” promising a day of inspiration and learning.
During the event, they had the privilege of attending a thought-provoking conference by Leila Slimani, a prominent French Moroccan author, journalist, and activist. Her accolades, such as winning the prestigious Prix Goncourt in 2016 and serving as Macron’s personal representative for the francophonie, speak volumes about her dedication to promoting the French language and culture on a global scale.
Leila Slimani’s words resonated deeply with the students, leaving them eager to explore more of her literary works.
Ms. Laouadi couldn’t be prouder of their unwavering motivation to learn and expand their horizons. Their active participation and positive engagement at the festival left a lasting impression, showcasing their school’s commitment to providing enriching educational experiences.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this trip possible, and here’s to many more enlightening adventures in the future!
